The Production

"The Scarlet Widow" is based in large part on real life characters and events from a recent time period in Los Angeles, thrown together in a mix that adds more flavor to the story. The Widow herself is largely fictionalized but grounded in real-life scenarios.

There are 7 prinicipal roles, a couple of supporting roles featured in a courtroom scene, 3-4 TV newscasters whose brief inserts will be pre-taped, and a couple of 1-2 line speaking parts. The courtroom scene and a handful of other interiors will require extras.

While the film is set in Los Angeles, roughly 80% of the action takes place indoors, and those scenes can be shot anywhere. As to exteriors, some footage of L.A. landmarks will be necessary, but for the most part, other urban areas could stand in for the City of Angles.
