The Scarlet Widow is an erotic noir revenge thriller set in the byzantine world of Los Angeles politics, media and law enforcement.

The title character is Christina Viramontes, a former LAPD undercover vice cop, who is now L.A. County’s Chief Deputy District Attorney and the brains of the D.A.’s office.

The D.A. is her husband Eduardo Viramontes, a charismatic rising political star. The open seat for Mayor of Los Angeles is pretty much his for the taking, and he’s already positioning himself for bigger things on the national level.

Since joining the D.A.’s office, Christina has kept her statuesque figure and scarlet red hair under wraps so that Eduardo can have the spotlight all to himself. She has also turned a blind eye to his constant philandering in the belief that furthering his career will boost hers.

But when Christina silently observes her husband being serviced by a glamorous TV news reporter, she learns that she’s been betrayed on two fronts. It’s obvious that Eduardo is prepared to drop the biggest case of Christina’s career in return for a huge boost to his own career. And he’s also prepared to dump Christina in favor of his new girlfriend. Christina is suddenly faced with the need for a new approach to both her career and her personal life.

The next day, Christina confronts Eduardo and informs him that she has no intention of going along with his plans and just fading into the background. In a meeting later that day, she learns from a notorious wiretapper and blackmailer that Eduardo and her former boss at the LAPD, who's now Chief of Police, are now conspiring to have her killed. Given this advance warning, Christina manages to foil the first attempt on her life.

Meanwhile, the "Midnight Slasher," a notorious serial rapist and murderer whose conviction has been unexpectedly overturned on appeal, is about to return to L.A. for a hearing on a new trial. At his previous trial, he had threatened to kill Eduardo, the judge and the jury.

This could be Christina’s opportunity to take revenge on her husband without incriminating herself. And in the process, why not have some fun with both her husband and the serial killer before anyone’s blood is shed?

Using her insider's knowledge of LAPD operations, Christina is able to surreptitiously sabotage Eduardo’s court case against the Midnight Slasher.

Then, in the courthouse, she takes off the wraps and introduces her new persona as a smoldering femme fatale. The straightlaced prosecutor has been transformed into Rita Hayworth.

Finally, under cover of night, Christina kidnaps the Midnight Slasher and stashes him right under Eduardo's nose, sending the city into a panic with a serial killer at large.

By day, Christina still fulfills her responsibilities as the Chief Deputy D.A. By night, she plays the role of dominatrix with the Midnight Slasher as her love slave and her ultimate instrument of revenge.

Dangling the Midnight Slasher as a prize, Christina separately lures both Eduardo and the Chief of Police to the same deadly rendezvous. The suspense builds as they both converge on the location where Christina and the Midnight Slasher are waiting for them.

There are many different ways this confrontation could play out. Will Christina be able to survive? Or will she be trapped in her own deadly web?

Not likely. She's much too resourceful ever to run out of options.
